10/29/2004 Annual Meeting, Tennis Court Cracks, Natural Areas

  1. CALL TO ORDER (Michael) - Called to order at 7:15. In attendance Michael Long, Arnetta Whitehouse, Rebecca Kavanagh, Faith Brasch, Susanne Strichartz, Chuck Eglinton.

  2. SECRETARY’S REPORT (Chuck) – Approved and accepted.

  3. TREASURER’S REPORT (Arnetta) – Lien to be placed on Gluck home. Foreclosure recommended for Markey Home.

  4. COMMITTEE REPORTS -

    • FORESTRY & LANDSCAPE (Bert Green - absent) -
      • Natural Growth Areas - (Michael Lang) - Chatter will include an article requesting donation of perennials for natural growth areas on the cul-de-sacs. Looking for people who live on cul-be-sacs to take "ownership" when redesigning cul-de-sacs. Faith will try to get Inez Klimos to be the coordinator of this project.
      • Ash Bore Treatment / Removal - more trees to be removed next year.
      • Maple Tree leaf spots - If the leaves aren't collected then the same thing will happen next year. Susanne will check with her tree person about whether there are long term consequences.
      • Debris behind Arnetta's home - City couldn't determine if the pile was on commons property or homeowner's property. Susanne will contact the owner to see if he will contribute to the removal of the debris.
      • Chuck will contact Meier to remove debris behind lot 29 (or 30) and lot 41

    • COMMONS MAINTENANCE -
      • Tennis Court Repair - Tennis court has cracks in the surface. Michael called S&J about cracks, but they have not returned the calls. Faith suggested that the cracks should be filled before water can infiltrate and make the cracks worse. Michael will send a certified letter and fax.
      • Basketball Backboard - awaiting delivery 10/15/2004 (Delivered on 10/15 and awaiting installation)
      • Adverse Possession of Commons Area - Board recommends installing boulders to prevent automobiles from driving on commons area near Korean Church (people are driving on the commons to get to volleyball nets).
      • Repair Lawn Area at the Burns Residence - Michael will tell Jeff Burns to proceed with repair of lawn area from Tennis court repair.
      • In-Line Skating over shuffleboard area: The board is considering $8000 for new surface / $4500 for used modular surface.
    • WELCOMING (Susanne) - Three new families. The restrictions document will be added to the welcoming package.
  1. AUTUMN / WINTER ISSUES -

    • Chatter Autumn Issue - (Rebecca) - An article will be written encouraging a vote about whether home rentals should be allowed. Also articles about in-line skating rink to replace the shuffleboard area, tennis court repair, natural growth committee, soliciting perennials but will be providing materials, annual meeting.
    • Set Annual Meeting Date & Place - Annual meeting November 3rd, 7:00pm at Forest Elementary School.
  1. OLD BUSINESS -

    • York Ridge/ Old Timber 3-way Stop - Michael Lang
    • Dues: Michael Gluck, Lot #92, Markey
    • Lot #9 - Stockade Fence - Michael will follow up.
    • Markey Foreclosure - suggest foreclosure on this home.
    • Stop Sign on Old Timber - Michael will check with the city.

  1. NEW BUSINESS
    • Propose addition to Restrictions to disallow renting a home.
    • Propose foreclosing on Markey Home
