Lori and I just came back from a successful and friendly board meeting with Heritage Hills.

The picnic is no longer going to cost us $600 for this year as we were billed, we questioned the spending and they estimated our portion to be $460.

They voted while we were there on the creek issue and they are going with the $2,750 quote as this was a recommendation from the city.

They didn't complain that we are contributing $1,100 towards the creek, as a matter of fact, they appreciated our presence today and concern.

Thus, Lori and I thought that it might not be a bad idea to just split the bill with them since they are going with the $2,750 quote.

This would mean an additional $325 from us to get the creek flowing properly again. (In theory, it is only costing us $185 because we negotiated a discount on our portion of the picnic)

Tuesday, August 21, 2012 - Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Present were Laura, Fabio, Faith, and Karen

The stumps will remain and the wood chips from the trees will be dumped behind the tennis courts.

It was discussed to have Davis do all of the tree work this year and work out a payment plan over the next 2 years with him, Fabio will discuss with Rob, we tried calling Rob while we were all there, no answer.

We also talked about the condition of the paths and thought about possibly putting sidewalks in and NO this was not my idea, it was being discussed as I entered the meeting.

Laura is going to call the city to find out the process and any regulations about sidewalks. We talked about assessing the neighborhood for it.

I was talking to Steve about sidewalks and he brought up a few valid points. Other than the expense of putting sidewalks in, some homes will need to alter landscaping and sprinklers which can become a costly expense, we probably need to talk about this even further.

As I mentioned at the meeting, Alan Vosko said they paid $1.25sq ft for repaving , that is an option with some additional costs of removing and cutting out roots from the few areas that are impacted, this may be a good idea, especially with the trees being trimmed/removed. Obviously, we will need to wait a few years or send out a special assessment for the path since we are spending approx $20K on trees over the next few years.

We walked around the commons and Fabio identified all of the trees that will be either trimmed or removed. We walked by the creek and decided that we will contribute $1,000.00 to HH and they can deal with it, of course we will not pay until the job is complete.
