August 2007 board meeting

WEDGWOOD COMMONS MEETING MINUTES
August 27, 2007


The meeting was called to order by Faith Brasch at 7:30 pm. Attendees were Susanne Strichartz, Rebecca Jozwiak, Nancy Efrusy, Karen Smart, Sarah Lang, Lori Goldberg, and Bert Green.

Sarah Lang is moving to Arizona. Faith introduced our new secretary, Karen Smart.

WELCOMING
Lot #36 is our only outstanding house that has not paid their dues. Susanne is going to collect their dues.

COMMONS MAINTENANCE
Susanne is having sand and mulch delivered to the commons area. Faith reported that bridge repair is going to cost $630.00. That should be done within the next week. Bert spoke about how some of the branches from the willow trees are down. He will call Meier about hauling the branches away. There is a sprinkler head that is flooding and not working properly. Bert will call B&W Sprinkler and see if that can be taken care of.

CHATTER
We talked about including a map in the Chatter as well as in the welcome packet for new residents to point out playgrounds, trails and other points of interest. It is a great idea!!!

PARKS
At our last meeting Lysa talked about signage for the parks. We decided we didn’t want to put signs anywhere. The tennis court nets need to be taken down by Halloween, Jeff Brasch will take look at them and see what needs to be done. We discussed the cracks in the tennis courts and possibly repairing them. We will revisit the subject in the Spring.

NEW BUSINESS
The picnic was wonderful! Faith left a few messages on the Rolling Oaks president’s machine about how we wanted to help plan. She got no response. Lori said she would call Susan Weinstock to see if we could help next year. Every year we get a flat bill and it is not made clear what we are paying for. We will ask if they could itemize the bill so we know where our money is going.

Nancy reminded us that at last year’s annual meeting, we had discussed the house that was very scary last Halloween. Due to complaints from several neighbors about the person chasing kids into the street with a running chainsaw, we all agreed that it was potentially dangerous. Nancy offered to write a letter just asking them if they would consider making their house a little more kid friendly. We are also going to ask them to stop their music at 9pm; last Halloween it was going until after 10pm.

The Ford CD is going to be closed out. We need Arnetta, Marshall and Chuck to sign off on it.

The annual meeting will be the end of October, the board will meet beforehand.

The meeting adjourned at 8:40pm.
